| What is TOPFINE® N98
An amorphous (non-crystalline) silicon dioxide consisting of perfectly spherical primary particles (150 nm mean dia).
It is inert, non-toxic and eco-friendly. It will not decompose even in a fire.
TOPFINE® N98 is readily dispersed in, and compatible to most thermoplastics elastomers.
How does TOPFINE® N98 work?
Flame retardancy: TOPFINE® N98 is a flame retardant synergist that improves the char strength and makes the flame retardant additives (ATH, MDH, ATO, APP, etc) work more efficiently ， allowing a reduction in the addition level of the flame retardants.
Rheology: TOPFINE® N98 acts like “sub-micron ball bearings”, reducing the torque in mixing (saving energy and may allow a higher filler loading). It can reduce the buildup of plate out by lowering the friction against the tooling in an extruder (better and a more uniform flow and better surface). The “ball bearing effect” also helps to disperse inorganic fillers and additives, making the compounds more homogenous.
Dynamic fatigue: TOPFINE® N98 shows excellent fatigue resistance, brings longer service life, brings lower risk of failure, increasing more than 50% property of fatigue resistance.
